2009

In 2009 all the data layers were updated and additional data sets added. The new data sets added were produced as part of the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change's Offshore Energy Strategic Environmental Assessment programme. In addition a data download facility was also incorporated to allow users to download data without having to use the mapping facility. Meta data files were also created for all the data sets to ensure users were familiar with the data they download from the site. An online Help page was also incorporated to assist in the use of the GIS mapping services that are available on the site. The data download page was extended to include details on the update frequency of each of the datasets. The first Maritime Data newsletter was issued.

2007/2008

Due to its success, the project was extended to cover the entire UKCS in 2007. In addition a direct data download facility was added to allow users to download GIS data directly from the maritime data map. The website was completed rebranded during this phase of the development. A newsletter template was created and issued to promote the use of the website.

2006/2007

In 2006 the project entered into a one year period of data management and upkeep. During this time the nautical charts were added to the system along with an IMO routeing measure data set. A site map function was incorporated to aid navigation.

2005/2006

During 2005 Anatec were requested to develop the maritime data website for three offshore renewable strategic areas.
