The data contained within the MaritimeData.co.uk website is updated regularly. Additional data is included to the system periodically to extend its use. The incorporation of additional data tends to be driven by DECC or via email suggestions made by users of the website through the sites feedback facility. The most recent extension of the data was the addition of GIS layers produced under the as part of the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change's Offshore Energy Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) programme project as gathered by Hartley Anderson.

The following table provides a summary of the data sets that are currently available through Maritime Data. All the data sets are available for online viewing. At the discretion of the data provider, some are also available for GIS download (in WGS84 projection).

Care has been taken to ensure that the data contained within this site does not mislead and where possible the data has been obtained directly from the primary custodian to ensure its accuracy.

The site is updated regularly however it should be borne to mind that not all the data will be the most current available and that certain data is only updated annually.
